Fire and Rescue teams rushed to the spot after thick smoke was seen from the campus near Sholinganallur on OMR. Official details on the cause and extent of damage are awaited.

A fire accident was reported today at the Tech Mahindra campus inside the ELCOT SEZ at Karapakkam, near Sholinganallur on Chennai’s Old Mahabalipuram Road. Initial media updates reported a major fire at the company premises, with thick smoke visible from the area.

According to early reports, employees inside the campus were evacuated as a precaution, while Fire and Rescue personnel reached the location and began operations to bring the situation under control. Public reports also indicated that black smoke had spread around the Karapakkam area during the incident.

The cause of the fire has not yet been officially confirmed. Details regarding injuries, property damage, affected floors or sections of the building, and the exact time taken to control the fire are still awaited from official agencies.
